About the Founder
Mariam Ashley Yusuf, an indigene of Benue State, Nigeria, grew up in a society where she witnessed firsthand the struggles of people who couldn't fend for themselves. This sparked an innate desire in her, as a young girl, to help those in need whenever possible.
She holds a Bachelor's degree in Theatre Arts from Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria, and a Master's degree in Media Arts from the University of Abuja. Despite her professional training in the field, her urge to help others hasn't diminished. Instead, it has given her a new perspective and approach to achieve more for women, children, and communities, extending to other parts of the world.
At the helm of MAY Foundation, her focus is on social entrepreneurship with a strong commitment to eradicating human trafficking and advocating for the girl child. Our team's unwavering dedication has developed and implemented initiatives aimed at empowering vulnerable women and children across Nigeria, fostering sustainable societal growth.
As a seasoned advocate with expertise in leadership, her mission is to create telling impacts through developmental projects. The foundation that she leads exemplify the philosophy of 'Being my Sister's Keeper,' and strives to amplify the voices of those we serve while driving towards a future where social vices are significantly reduced…
